UPCOMING EVENTS & ANNOUNCEMENTS
Message from Hon. David Farr
You may already be aware of the Texas Supreme Court mandate for all courts to be paperless by the end of the year. This has already been accomplished in the 247th, 310th and the 245th courts. The 308th will be complete this next week and then the 312th on October 21st and then the 257th on October 28th. The remaining courts will follow shortly thereafter and by the end of the year.
The practical effect of this mandate will be that you will NOT be able to file in the courts with paper filings once that specific court goes electronic (i.e. in the 312th after October 21, 2013). There will be kiosks mounted on the counsel tables in each court (including in 1115 Congress) for you to access electronic court files. In an attempt to ease this transition I have attached several documents from the Harris County District Clerk’s Office which will assist you in obtaining the necessary usernames and passwords in order to both e-file pleadings and review electronic court files.
On that note, I hope you will find the attached file (texfile_mailer-insert.pdf) helpful in adapting to the use of TexFile’s E-Filing system. It gives you a short description of what is coming and refers you to the TexFile website for more information. Additionally, I have attached a guide to tell you how to create a log in for the site, how to pull up cases and view documents, and much more. This guide is also available on the home page of the Harris County District Clerk’s website.
Thank you for your patience as we work through this transition and I hope that the attached instructions assist in that endeavor. ddf
